Biography

Dr. Karl Grindal is a policy analyst and information security researcher based in New Hampshire, where he holds an Assistant Professorship in Security Studies at the University of New Hampshire. His research focuses on how the political economy and history of the domain shape cyber conflict. Previously, Dr. Grindal held a Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Cybersecurity and Privacy. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Grindal worked in cybersecurity policy consulting as the Director of Research at Intelligent Cyber Research LLC and as a Senior Analyst at Delta Risk LLC. From 2014-2017 he served as the Executive Director for the Cyber Conflict Studies Association. He received his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech's School of Public Policy, a master's degree from Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy, and his bachelor's degree at Wesleyan University.
