Biography

Dr. Karim Farhat is a Senior Research Scientist and Assistant Director of the Internet Governance Project(opens in new tab). He leads a team of researchers dedicated to preserving an open, competitive digital economy and protecting free trade in information services, technology, and expression. His research examines monetary networks and crypto‑assets, with a particular focus on US - China technology relations. He teaches telecommunications policy to mid‑career professionals as an instructor in Georgia Tech’s Professional Education program. His work has been featured in the BBC World Service, AP News, Reason Magazine, Broadband Breakfast, Voz de América, Bloomberg, and other outlets. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Georgia Tech.
